Painting a still life, especially the floral images, gives me the opportunity to enjoy the entire range of palette colors. I have a genuine fondness for painting flowers, especially the roses that I cultivate in my own garden. Sometimes I will take silk flowers and other items that I arrange together and paint them outdoors in the plein air style. I enjoy creating these unique compositions, and because the light outdoors is so vivid, the resulting paintings can be incredible.
