Living on a lake for 30 years, I enjoyed observing and painting waterlilies. I found that it would require painting quickly because as the light changes the lilies will close.  My biggest thrill in painting waterlilies was standing on the shores of Monet’s waterlily garden and painting en plein air some of the same scenes that are in his paintings.
